34 years… what does it all mean?
Jan 04, 2011
So… I’m really 34. Is it weird i am not having any type of yearly self recollection at this time. My hair’s a mess (or super sweep if you enjoy Afros) and i haven’t figured out what to do with it since cutting the dreads a couple of years ago. Maybe ill figure that out first and then the rest will fall in place. Besides, sky is falling recollection comes every 5 years silly.

Expression Engine
January, 2009
ExpressionEngine’s incredibly powerful CMS (Content Management System) became my platform of choice for developing websites. Thank you iPhone for Killing Flash indirectly leading me to EE.

The day that Flash died.
Jun 29, 2007
As a web designer, focusing mainly in flash development, I was anxiously awaiting the release of Apple’s iPhone. First, because the interface and multitouch screen looked absolutely sick and like serious game changer for the mobile web, and second, to see if it would integrate my favorite platform to design in Flash. It did have the most intuitive way of viewing the web on a mobile device (excited to see more devices that have this multitouch interface), but absolutely no Flash. So lets just say I saw the future of flash and it would not be me trying to push it any further and start developing sites with my own abandonment of my once favorite platform.

The DLC Show Begins
Dec 29, 2005
The first official episode of The DLC Podcast (now The DLC Show) was published. The DLC Show started out as a way to figure out podcasting. The ideas of the show was to attempt to chronicle 20-something life in Key West. DLC or DreadLock Chris was a nick-name given to me that i really didn’t like all that much so instead of running, i embraced it and thus the show was named (The Chris Higgins Show Just didn’t ring as well). Guest Host’s included, “Sweet Pickles” Sam, and “Weezer” Kyle Wenz, to “The Traveling Salesman” Curtis Burkett, and then my Brother Tim, and Kevin Doyle as the show went from recording in my Key West clubhouse to Live Afternoon Show on WIIS Island 107.1 FM in Key West and now Tuesday and Thursday mornings on Island 107.1 FM Key West Radio.

Birth of chrishiggins.net
Nov 08, 2003
Because some Yahoo, with the same name is me Registered chrishiggins.com in 1998 (are you kidding me i didn’t know about buying domains ‘til ‘01… ridiculous) i settled on the .net as he looked to be somewhat tech savvy and updated his site/blog regularly. A sad day that the .com was gone but a happy day as .net was ready to go.

The Dread Years
March, 2002
As Springbreak ‘02 was hitting Ft. Lauderdale beach… lets see how dreads would look… yo Tim grab the honey… Although it was not the best way to start dreads, they eventually took and stayed around for almost a decade.

This Job hunting thing is a snap…
October, 2001
A bright eyed youth, just out of college, in a new town and now trying to make something of himself, is trying to get his first “Grown Up Job”. Less than a week into his big move to South Florida, already has an apartment and took the first job offered. Lets do the math; 1 job interview (his first), 1 job offer (who wouldn’t hire me?), ok I’ll take it to be safe but… finding something better than a crappy 19K a year, cleaning up logos to put on pens and pencils, jobs has to be a piece of cake…
...or so i thought…
Lets just say plenty of rejection letters on the Fridge.

Bio
Chris Higgins doesn't mean to brag or anything, but before he started doing web dev/design, animation, filming, producing, directing, radio showing, he used to work at the juggernaught of deliciousness know as the Olive Garden. And because he has extensive experience slinging dishes of Italian Joy, he feels the trials and tribulations he went through there, makes him somewhat an expert on a little thing called life... You might of heard of it.
This is not just a biographical account or a timeline of events encountered by the said subject, but more a chronicle of ideas. While an actual physical experience may have never materialized, the thought was always there. As this all may seem confusing, well, just think of the burden of actually trying to write it.
